Posong the fox was walking along when she stopped.
High up on the arbour hung a big bunch of grapes.
If only I could have just one bite of that.
Posong crouched down and sprang up.
But the grapes were still far above her.
This time she bounced twice, one right after the other.
Closer than before — but her paws still did not reach.
Posong backed away a good long way. She ran and jumped higher than ever — and missed by just that much.
Posong caught her breath and looked up at the grapes. That lovely bunch of grapes floated up in her mind. Those are sour and nasty anyway, I'm sure of it.
